Referring to Unfolding Minds

We’re clinical psychologists focused on adults with anxiety, OCD, trauma and related difficulties. Our treatment is structured, evidence-based and goal-focused, so patients and referrers can see progress. We see clients in person in Penshurst and by telehealth, and we welcome referrals from GPs and psychiatrists.

Who we see

  • PTSD and complex trauma

  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)

  • Health anxiety

  • Body dysmorphic disorder and appearance concerns

  • Panic disorder and agoraphobia

  • Social anxiety

  • Generalised anxiety, worry and perfectionism

  • Depression and low mood, particularly alongside anxiety

Our approach

We use proven treatments matched to each presentation. These include cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP) for OCD and BDD, and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive processing therapy (CPT) and prolonged exposure (PE) for PTSD. We set clear goals early, review progress regularly, and keep you informed along the way.

For Medicare rebates, patients need a Mental Health Treatment Plan and a referral specifying the number of sessions. Psychiatrist referrals are also accepted.

What happens next

  • Feel free to send the referral through, and please ask your patient to contact us to book. We don’t reach out first.

  • We typically respond within one business day, and one of our psychologists handles intake personally.

  • You’ll receive a letter after the initial assessment, updates under the treatment plan, and an end-of-treatment summary.

Fees

Sessions are $250 for 50 minutes. With a Mental Health Treatment Plan, your patient receives a Medicare rebate of $149.05, leaving a gap of about $101. We process the rebate on the day.
